Try Before Committing - Taster Session
The taster session provides an hour or mores tuition with an experienced and qualified archery coach. This archery experience provides participants with the opportunity to try the sport before committing to a full beginner’s course.
All equipment needed is provided, and each participant will learn basic shooting technique, safety as well as a little about our club, the sports history and taking the next steps.

Ready To Become A Member - Beginners Course
The clubs’ beginners’ courses are accredited by our sports governing body (Archery GB) and provide in excess of six hours tuition with qualified coaches. Topics covered are safety, stance, posture, technique (barebow and freestyle), and archery etiquette.
We also provide information on archery “rounds” and scoring systems and introduce other forms of archery (field and clout) which are common in the UK. The course culminates (for adults) with the opportunity to experience different bow styles including English long bows, American flat bows, horse bows compound bows.
On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a certificate that is accepted Nationally at all clubs affiliated to Archery GB.
The course is normally conducted over 4 consecutive Tuesday evenings either at West Lodge or Montsaye Community Sports Centre. In the summer we do put on a couple of full day courses.
All necessary equipment will be provided.
